Liz has over 20 years experience in urban and regional planning. This includes significant experience in local government strategic planning, project management, and the assessment of retail, commercial, residential and State significant development.
Prior to joining Elton Consulting Liz was Acting Director, Development at Mid-Western Regional Council. She also previously held the position of Manager, Strategic Planning and Environmental Services. In these roles she gained extensive experience in the delivery of strategic land use plans and was responsible for the entire Development Assessment process and eleven development assessment staff. She prepared, reviewed and implemented planning proposals and Local Environment Plan amendments and represented Council on development control matters at the Land and Environment Court. In addition, Liz developed strong corporate planning skills, managing the Council’s Community Planning process from engagement through to operational and delivery plans.
Liz has worked closely with the Department of Planning & Environment as part of the external Policy Review Group looking at Draft State Environment Planning Policies. She has contributed to the Technical Working Group, a collaboration between the Central West Joint Organisation of Councils and Department of Planning and Environment, to prepare the draft Regional Plan. Liz also formulated and implemented developer contribution plans and voluntary planning agreements for Councils including Mid-Western, Gunnedah and Blue Mountains.
