Martin Klopper

Martin has more than 19 years of experience in strategic and statutory planning, regional planning, economic development, housing projects as well as stakeholder and community consultation. Martin’s experience crosses both the private and public sectors.

Since joining Elton Consulting in March 2012, Martin has been involved in a range of planning and consultation projects, including consultation and land use planning work involving large-scale Greenfield subdivisions, multi-storey apartment complexes, commercial subdivisions and large stakeholder and community consultation projects. Martin has delivered work across the regional Victoria, as well as Metropolitan Melbourne, including affordable housing advice, social infrastructure assessments and strategic policy advice.

Prior to Elton Consulting, Martin was Manager, Remote Industry Development, for the Northern Territory Government working on economic development, employment and training projects with remote Indigenous populations in the Northern Territory, combining cross-cultural consultation with economic development project delivery. Martin was a Senior Planner for the Department of Lands and Planning Strategic Planning division, working on area plans and development assessment projects for remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory as well as a design team member for the new sustainable city of ‘Weddell’.

Martin has a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the Free State (South Africa), as well as a Certificate in Community Consultation through the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
