Robert is an experienced strategic and statutory planner who has held senior positions in high profile government and private sector organisations.
With more than 25 years in planning, Rob has extensive experience navigating the various legal, logistical and political issues that often accompany large scale developments. He has worked in Australia, the UK, Nigeria and the US.
Prior to joining Elton Consulting, Rob was the State Planning Manager NSW & ACT for Lendlease Communities. In this position he was responsible for strategic and statutory planning issues, provided strategic planning advice within Lendlease Properties and was the Lendlease representative on PCA and UDIA committees, and the Committee for Sydney Taskforce.
Rob’s public sector experience saw him working across several NSW Government agencies to lead the team delivering the long term planning strategy for Sydney Harbour, including the REP, public access program and governance structure.
Local major projects Rob has managed or had planning involvement with include the Bingara Gorge, Calderwood, ADI St Marys, Nelsons Ridge and Rouse Hill Regional Centre developments. Abroad, he was involved with the UK’s largest ever DA by a private company (Ebbsfleet), the Channel Tunnel Rail Line and planning for Kent Thameside, which was a development corporation led by the private sector comprising 50,000 people and 30,000 jobs on the principles of public transit oriented development.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning, specialising in planning law and innovation in property funding, and a Bachelor of Town and Country Planning (Honours) from Manchester University.
