Elton Consulting was engaged by South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) to explore practical strategies to build community resilience and promote a healthy built environment.
Our team undertook interviews with key local and state government stakeholders and non-government agencies involved in planning and developing healthy built environments. Consultation findings were compiled in a background report for SESLHD staff that highlighted key issues and opportunities in each local government area. Following this, our team worked with SESLHD to develop an action plan to guide the organisation’s healthy built environments into the short and medium term. Key actions include working with local councils and other partners to promote shared goals, organising and delivering health data seminars for local government, and determining internal structures and resourcing to support and coordinate healthy built environment initiatives within SESLHD.
