Through a range of day services in Sydney’s Eastern and North West Suburbs, the Inala community is a place where people living with disability can access a variety of individualised programs that recognise their abilities. Based on the Steiner philosophy, each person is supported to fulfil their potential, pursue their aspirations and be valued members of the community.
Elton Consulting has been involved with Miroma, Inala’s day services in the Eastern Suburbs, for many years. Comprising three services in Vaucluse, Bellevue Hill and Watson’s Bay, Miroma has developed a high level of expertise in supporting a wide range of needs and interests.
Participants are able to choose from:
- creative art, craft, music and drama programs
- independence and life skills training
- community access and participation
- volunteer and work experience
- cooking and wellbeing programs.
Elton Consulting support the Miroma community through their involvement in Inala’s corporate golf days and the annual Miroma Art Exhibition, as well as through Miroma’s sustainability work skills program initiative, which utilises Elton Consulting’s recycled paper waste.
Our office recyclable paper is collected by the Inala team who then shred the paper for compost, which is used in the local council’s community gardens. The Inala garden team tends plots in the garden and the produce grown is picked and used in the Inala cooking program. Once a week, family and friends and other special guests join participants for lunch, which also uses the produce.
