Cheramie Marsden


Cheramie is a highly skilled planner with more than 23 years of experience in NSW, Tasmania and the UK, including senior planning roles with NSW state and local government.

Her key strengths include extensive experience in strategic planning, the assessment of complex planning issues and stakeholder engagement. Cheramie is well-versed in developing environmental planning instruments including Local Environment Plans, as well as policy research, development and review.

Cheramie has also undertaken numerous independent and peer assessments of rezoning and development applications and strategy documents for a wide variety of clients.

Prior to joining Elton Consulting, Cheramie ran her own sole trading company. Previous roles include Director Planning Excellence for the NSW Department of Planning & Environment, Manager Planning Systems for the NSW Department of Planning & Infrastructure and Strategic Planning Coordinator Holroyd City Council.

Major projects Cheramie has been responsible for include assisting local councils with precinct and master planning, revitalisation projects, Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans. Cheramie also coordinated strategic planning input on behalf of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the wider East London officer group for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in her capacity as Manager Strategic Planning.

Cheramie holds an Executive Master of Public Administration from the University of Sydney, a Master of Town Planning from the University of Tasmania and a Bachelor of Environmental Science from Griffith University.
