Sonia Dalitz is a highly skilled Social Planner with seven years of experience working in local government. A specialist in providing social and urban policy and planning advice, Sonia has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in community and stakeholder engagement, demographic analysis and healthy urban development practice.
Sonia has been responsible for evaluating major social impact assessment studies to inform planning for new developments including the Western Sydney Airport, Sydney Science Park and high density multi-unit housing precincts. Her substantial experience includes determining existing and future community needs for a wide range of social infrastructure and services in greenfield areas as well as urban infill; and she has also been an active contributor in the preparation of strategic plans, submissions, and research reports. In addition, Sonia has worked extensively with not-for-profit organisations, utilising asset based practice to support sector development.
Prior to joining Elton Consulting, Sonia held several roles working with young people including facilitating Youth Justice Conferences for the NSW Department of Juvenile Justice, Youth Sector Development for the NSW Department of Community Services and teaching secondary education.
Sonia is currently completing a Master of Politics and Policy at Macquarie University and holds a Community Services Certificate from the Western Institute of TAFE. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Education from the Australian Catholic University, and a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature), from the University of Sydney.
